FODHC to present at RBCC 9/14/22

On September 14 at 7pm, representatives from Friends of Dead Horse Canyon will give a free, open-to-the-public presentation about the park. We’ll outline the history of this cherished South End green space and discuss the latest developments on Seattle Public Utilities’ (SPU) proposed Taylor Creek Restoration project.

For those of you who attended SPU’s site walk last month—and those who didn’t—this is a chance to hear more about FODHC’s stance on SPU’s proposed sediment management strategies for the creek, and why we strongly oppose any option involving the construction of a road over the walking trail.

We’ll also share our perspectives on SPU’s recent efforts to engage the community, as well as FODHC’s recent outreach to elected officials in the City of Seattle and King County. We’ll discuss our direct involvement with SPU to explore alternatives to road-building, and will offer tools for community members who’d like to join the effort to protect the trees—and the ecosystem—of Dead Horse Canyon/Taylor Creek against the destructive impacts of a potential road.

See you there!

WHEN: Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 7pm
